Dark Grey Nitrocellulose Protein Microarray
October 2007
SHARING OPTIONS:

SCHOTT's product group Nexterion Microarray Solutions, and the Sartorius Stedim Biotech Group have launched an innovative dark grey nitrocellulose protein microarray slide. The innovation solves the problem created by conventional white nitrocellulose films which scatter and reflect large amounts of light, leading to high background fluorescence. To solve the light scattering and reflecting challenge, Sartorius Stedim developed a new process that adds light-absorbing black pigment throughout the micro-porous structure of the membrane. The darker membrane has significantly lower background autofluorescence increasing the overall dynamic signal range when compared to traditional white membrane slides. This offers a significant advantage for diagnostic applications where typically the signals are low. The Nexterion Slide NC-D with dark grey membranes are available in either a single or 16-pad format on a standard microarray glass slide.
