DSA implements Phase Forward’s Empirica Signal for risk management
March 2009
SHARING OPTIONS:

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C.—Pharmaceutical safety and pharmacovigilance provider Drug Safety Alliance (DSA) announced in February that it has implemented Phase Forward's Empirica Signal data mining and signal detection software to help identify and respond to possible unexpected effects during the drug development process. Empirica Signal contains data contained from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and World Health Organization (WHO) databases.

"The data we are signaling on at DSA is the same data the FDA and WHO are looking at.  This allows us to proactively see how similar drugs are performing and tease-out any adverse effects that might occur in certain situations, such as polytherapy," said DSA Chief Safety Officer Dr. Elizabeth Garrard in a statement.
