WILLIMANTIC, Conn.—Charles River Discovery Services and Research Triangle Park, N.C.-based Metabolon have joined forces in a partnership geared toward enhancing cancer research. Metabolon brings to the table its metabolomics platform for in-depth analysis of metabolic data for the identification of mechanism of action and biomarkers, while Charles River has significant experience in preclinical oncology studies. The partnership allows the two companies to offer a variety of services, including identification, characterization and validation of drug targets candidates; PK/PD, tumor growth delay and inhibition, survival, combination and adjuvant study designs; assessment of lead chemistries, lead identification, optimal dose and combinations, sensitivity/resistance patterns and new indications for current compounds; and development of biomarkers.
