Axxora has announced the availability of Netrin-1, a laminin-related secreted protein involved in nervous system development and cancer progression.  Netrin-1 binds to human, mouse, and rat receptors UNC5H and DCC. Its biological activity includes inducement of axon outgrowth and inhibition of DCC- and UNC5H2-mediated apo-ptosis in HEK 293 cells. Netrin-1 has been shown to exert both chemoattractive and chemorepellent properties, and is involved in neuronal development as well as epithelial cell invasion, leukocyte migration, cell adhesion, and angiogenesis in organs such as the pancreas, lung, bowel, bone, and mammary gland. Netrin-1 also contributes to the control of tumorigenesis.
