SAN DIEGO—The Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina here will be the host location when more than 600 industry scientists gather for IBC Life Sciences' 14th annual ScreenTech—Smarter Screening Summit and TechTalk—Kinase and GPCR Targets March 21 to March 23. The combination of the two events is a nod to an industry trend of screening and therapeutic groups increasingly working together, according to IBC.
The conference promises to be a trove of information and will feature new scientific findings in focus areas including high-throughput screening applications and technologies, assay development for multiplexing and high-content screening, protein kinases and phosphatases, and G-protein coupled receptors. In all there will be more than 100 different presentations during the three-day conference in four separate program tracks and 45 companies exhibiting new technologies and services.
Keynote speakers for the event include Tamas Bartfai, director, Harold Dorris Neurologic Research Center, Scripps Research Institute who will present "GPCRs for Neuropeptides and Drug Targets"; Stephen W. Fesik, divisional vice president, cancer research for Abbott Laboratories and his discussion "Use of siRNA Libraties for Target Identification"; and Michel Bouvier, professor and chairman, department of biochemistry and Canada research chair in signal transduction and molecular pharmacology at the University of Montreal who will present his recent findings in "Modular Assembly of Protein Complexes Determines the Efficacy and Selectivity of G Protein-Coupled Receptor Signaling."
